First set back of the year...

Well, I was supposed to leave tomorrow morning for Seattle, but due to an ice storm, my flight has actually been canceled already. It sucks, as I was really looking forward to getting back on the road after a month & a half at home, but what can you do? I rescheduled my flight for Thursday morning, changed my rental car reservation, and rescheduled my Thursday shoot for later on in my trip. 'Tis the life of a traveling model. Maybe next year, I'll take February off.......

Getting ready for the first big trip of 2011

In the very beginning of 2011, I was having lunch with my good friend, Vince, and during our lunch, I was telling him about some rather funny & interesting things that I had encountered during some recent shoots. I was also giving him the low down on my upcoming cross country trip where I will be driving from Detroit, MI to Los Angeles, CA, and all of the cities that I had hoped to book & hit in between. He looked at me and said, Nyxon (ok, he used my real name), you should document your trip & take pictures of the things that you encounter so that later on, you can publish a coffee table book and call it Booked, Bound & Determined. Get it? You're booking shoots, and this is a book, you're bound & determined to do this, and you're also bound....because you enjoy bondage. I just gave him a funny look & continued to eat my dippy eggs. 

A few weeks later, I was looking at a calender & basically plotting out my year, when I realized that maybe Vince was on to something. I do do & see a lot of cool stuff while on the road, and more often than not have some funny anecdote to recount about most of my shoots, so I figured, why not? Not a coffee table book, but why not a blog full of pictures & tales about my travels. Sort of give you a glimpse into the often not-so-glamourous life of a traveling model. My sister did a very similar thing when she toured Europe for 3 months, and her blog was really, really cool. Hopefully this one will be as well.

In exactly 1 week, I leave for my first trip of 2011, and what better time to start my blog. First up is the PNW, Seattle, Vancouver, Portland & Florence. I have scheduled some personal time there as well, (my sis lives in Seattle) so hopefully I will have some neat stories & some amazing pics from when I go sight seeing.
