So, this is my final blog from my 2 week trip to the PNW, and so much has happened since my last blog. Both my sister & I had Saturday off, and we had planned on spending the day together, shopping & grabbing lunch. I woke up kinda feverish & achy, which is never good. The weather was super shitty too. Cold, rainy & damp. We decided to persevere with our plans anyway. We walked up to Broadway, from her apartment, and went to Crossroads. I love Crossroads, and my sis assured me that this was a good one. Well, she was right! I found 2 pair of designer jeans, a cute pair of leopard shoes, and a pair of Bordellos for $16.50!! Jackpot, lol. From there, we went to Red Light, which is an ok vintage/thrift store. I've been in there before, and never found anything, but I wanted to poke around anyway. Well, I had much better luck this time! I found 2 pair of vintage shoes, in my size, which isn't easy. I wear a size 7.5, which by modern standards, is average, but not so much for back then. Usually, the sizes I find are 5.5-6.5, which is like baby feet, lol. Well, I found a red leather & clear pair that need a teeny tiny bit of love. One of the round plastic gemstones is missing on the right shoe, but that can be remedied with a trip to Michael's. I also found a pair of black leather Spring-o-lators, that have absolutely no wear at all. Score! I also had a good bakelite find. I found a chartreuse bangle, 2in wide, with a strand of rhinestones in the center. The price was so good for the piece, that I just couldn't pass it up. I'll post some pics as soon as I get home. That night was pretty chill. We went to Redbox & rented movies, and then went to Pho Cyclo to get Pho. Since I was feeling sick, it sounded like the best thing to eat. We went home, watched The Social Network, which we liked, and then we tried to watch Dinner For Schmucks, but just couldn't finish it. Oh well, lol.
Sunday, I woke up feeling much, much better. I had a shoot with Andraste that day for www.publicfetishgirls.com, and I was pretty excited! He dressed me up in a black latex thong, clear latex catsuit, a leather vest thing, and thigh high latex boots, and we drove to the beach, haha.
The shoot was super fun, I got to wear really fun latex, and I can't wait to work with Andraste again!
After my shoot, I picked Amy up downtown, and we went home to eat. She got take out from her favorite teryaki joint, and it smelled sooooo good! Teryaki joints in Seattle are like pizza joints back east. There's one on every corner, and everyone has their favorite. It is indeed, deeeeee-licious!
That night was the big Grammy party in Seattle that my sister was invited to. I was to be her date, lol. It was cool. We dressed up a little bit, went to the bar (it was closed to the public for the private event) and watched the Grammy's on the big screen.
Here we are at the event. It was cool, I mean, I'm not up on popular music at all, because the majority of my musical tastes lie in the past and with the obscure, but it was fun.
Monday, I had a private session in the early afternoon, and then I had the rest of the day to run around Seattle, which meant that I spent most of my time at the Public Market! I went directly there & got yummy mac n cheese from Beecher's Handmade Cheese.
I walked around the market some more, and found some yummy lavender earl grey tea. Can't wait to drink that when I get home. I also grabbed some smoked salmon for my dad, and when Amy was finished with work, we went to Sephora to get her new make-up & skincare. She refused to buy an spf, which horrified me. If you do nothing else for yourself in this life, please buy yourself an spf & wear it daily. Even though I am very adamant about spf use, I only used it intermittently a few summers ago, and now I have sun damage on the left side of my face that occurred while I was driving all spring & summer. So now, because I didn't spend $30 on spf for my face, I'm spending $300 every few months on Kinerase products to reverse the damage. It's all but gone by now, but I use MAC's face primer with an spf 50 daily to keep it from returning. Plus tanning beds & the sun speed up the aging process, and who wants that?
After we finished shopping, since it was Valentine's Day, my sister took me to her favorite pizza place in the Market, The Alibi Room. If you weren't looking for it, you'd never find it. It's way down below, and the entrance is in an alley.
The wall across the alley from the Alibi Room. That's gum......
...yep.....gum......
Later that night, we met up with her friend Val, Sig, & Sig's girlfriend Shaina at a bar called Redwood. It was cool, and we had fun. Sig bought us pearl necklaces for Valentine's Day (har har).
Now, I'm just sitting in the Las Vegas airport, waiting for my connector back to Pittsburgh. I'll get back home around 12M EST, which kinda sucks, but whatever. My friend Jay is picking me up from the airport, and my apt/cat sitter, Tony, should still be living at my place. I have so much to do before I leave again on Sunday, it's ridiculous. I don't even want to think about it......
This trip went really, really well, and surprisingly, I didn't miss Pittsburgh at all. It was really nice to see my sister, whom I never get to see, and I felt really sad when I left her place today. Hopefully, I'll be able to go back at least one more time this year.
The view from my sister's rooftop.
