A Fair Warning

This gem of an email exchange came to me while I was in Detroit this past June.

Photographer:
I am looking to have you model in my designs for sure.
I had seen your image on your MM page. I am in near the Detroit area. How soon are you coming back??
Also do send a face book page link for you if you have one. I am very interested in working with you and having you see the designs I create.

Send a contact number also for you so we  may discuss details for the shoots Thanks in advance : )

Me:
Hello,
Thanks for your interest in having me model your designs. Could you send over your MM link so that I could peruse it? I would like to see if your designs/style matches my own.
I am unsure of when I will be returning to the Detroit area. Since I am here right now, I would have to say most likely sometime in the fall.
I do not have a Facebook page.

Photographer: do you have a passport to cross into Windsor for a shoot at all???
Me: Yes, I have a passport. I have had one for 20 years, lol.

Photographer:
Very cool! Ok are you still in Detroit?/ can you come to Windsor for a hour long shoot? Do send a contact number and lets discuss it Thanks

Me: Yes, I am still in Detroit, but I am fully booked on this trip. Would you be able to send me your mm info or a website link so that I can peruse your designs? I have a specific style, and I want to make sure that we are a good fit for each other.
Thanks!

Photographer:
Well like you don't have face bok mI do NOT have a Mm. I do edgy club wear and some pin up with a couture touch to the designs.
If you can call me let me know so we can talk direct. I hate back and forth stuff on emails. I lose interest REALLY quick. : ) Thanks

Me: Well, like I said, I am fully booked on this trip, and won't be able to work with you until the next time I come to town. Right now, I do not know when that will be, but it will most likely be either much later in 2011, or sometime in 2012. My FB account is personal & private, and reserved for friends & family, not for business. If that is the only place that you have your designs posted on the web, send over the link & I will peruse it. If you do indeed lose interest, well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be :-)

Photographer: Sorry I have no time for the back and forth and or the " not meant to be" mentality. No need to reply. Sorry to busy for this flakey means Thanks

Me: Haha! I don't have time for this either, I am very busy working with legitimate photographers & producers. You can call me a flake all you like, but in reality, you are the one that never really answered my questions or provided any sort of links to your work, like I had requested. I told you several times that I had no time on this trip to work with you, and that I wasn't sure if I was even going to return to the Detroit area again this year. I'm actually not even sure what it was that you were offering me, or even if I was interested. If I am a flake simply because I wouldn't give out my phone # so that you could call me (I don't even know your name, since you never once signed an email) to discuss a shoot that I'm not even sure would happen this year, them yes.... I am a flake. So be it.

Photographer: Look move on. I have. I am WAY too busy for these silly emails BYE BYE!

Me: That last email pretty much seals the deal on your lack of professionalism. Looks like I made a good choice. Thank you.

Photographer: Are you still replying HAHAHA! How sad. Bye bye! Go do your shoots I want NOTHING to do with you. WOW! What a silly little child!

Me: Well, you are still replying, too, or didn't you realize that. I was actually just writing to thank you for giving me a great topic for my blog. This should be fun, and entertaining, to write about.
Thanks, babe!
Oh, one more thing....for someone who said that they were done with me & done replying to my emails, you certainly are enjoying the back & forth with me

Photographer:
Well to be honest with you anything that is said to harm and or slander me will be deemed as that, Slander. I have worked at a Law Firm for over 4 years. Know this; anything stated which is deemed as slander I will take that as an attack. I am here for business you however do not seem to understand I have no time for that back and forth as I stated from the beginning. If I can not speak to a person direct in business I do not WANT TO do business with them.

Again I give you fair warning. Just end it with a confirmation to go your own way and I mine. IF not I will pursue filing Thank you.

Me: Dually noted, although it will be hard for you to prove that I am speaking about you, considering that I don't even know your name, personally or professionally, since you never once signed your emails. I have never worked in a law firm, but I do have a lawyer that specializes in this industry, that I consult with quite a bit regarding various things. There is no confidentiality with emails, or even texts for that matter, and I am able to reproduce an email thread, in it's entirety & verbatim, in a public forum, if I choose. But, considering that I would be doing it for entertainment purposes, and not for slander, I will omit your email address. That being said, if I ever read or hear of any slanderous remarks regarding me, Nyxon, made by you, on any public forum, message board, or even facebook, you can expect to be contacted by my lawyer. However, since you have stated that you once worked in a law firm for 4 years, I am sure that you are too well-versed within the legal system to even think of doing such a thing. Now, considering that you don't have time for this non-sensical back & forth, I suspect that I will not be hearing from you again.

Thank you

Photographer: Great so you go your way and I mine and no remarks and or blogs Thanks : )

Epilogue:
Ya know, just because you worked in a law firm for 4 years, it doesn't make you a lawyer, or even an expert in law. In fact, working in a law firm could mean anything. Were you in the mail room? Were you the janitor?  And if you did in fact work in a law firm for 4 years, you'd think that you would have learned a more professional way to approach people. Clearly, this person would have had trouble spelling professionalism, let alone know what it even means. In fact, I'm still not clear what kind of job they were offering or what their "designs" even were. What an idiot, lol.
