On Tues, I didn't have any shoots. Well, I was supposed to have an evening shoot in South Carolina, but the photographer bailed on me the day before the shoot. I was highly irritated, because canceling on me the day before doesn't give me a whole lot of opportunity to try & fill the time. I did find out, however, that this particular guy is a known flake, so....he promptly got blacklisted ;)
Since I really had nothing to do except drive to NC, I decided to head down to Little Five Points to poke around & do some shopping. There were a few stores there that I really liked, and I wanted to grab dinner there, so I packed up my stuff, said good-bye to Candle, and was on my way.
The weather was pretty crummy, rainy, grey & humid, but since Little Five tends to be busy, and parking is at a premium, I was happy for the cruddy weather. I found parking with no problem, and there was hardly anyone out & about. Perfect! My first stop was in Rag-A-Rama. I love clothing exchanges, and this particular one was really huge & full of stuff. I found a pair of awesome shoes, and three skirts. All 4 items can be used for both work & play, so I was pretty darned excited ;)
Next stop, was food. I was torn on where to go. I love the Porter, and had been there several times, but I was also craving Mexican, and El Myr was right there, beckoning to me. Hmmm.....after a few minutes of very serious deliberation, I chose El Myr. I was not disappointed! Everything was very, very nommy, and you got a lot of bang for your buck, portion-wise. After I refueled, I was ready to tackle more shopping.
I went into Stefan's, the vintage store that I like, but I didn't get anything. I did, however, see an amazing red cotton dress, with white piping details, but I didn't get it. I tried it on, and it looked amazing, and totally flattered my waistline, but, I was on a budget, and I didn't think that the dress was $65 worth of amazing. Oh well. I moved on to the next store, but didn't find anything there. I grabbed a coffee, and then walked across the street to a store that I had never been into before, Libertine. It was awesome, and I wanted to buy everything in there, lol! I had to pull in the reigns, though, and settled for a new fragrance by Tokyo Milk. I was happy :)
It was getting late, and dark, so I decided to bid farewell to Atlanta, and start my journey to North Carolina. I had two custom clips to shoot with Serene Isley, the next day, and after that, I could start my final journey home. My drive to NC wasn't too bad, but it was kinda long & I was pretty tired. I got to her studio around 11pm, and David Andrews was there, and so was Ogre & AJ Marion, which was a nice surprise. I had talked to Ogre online before, but this would be our first time meeting, so that was cool. We all stayed up pretty late & hung out, but since we all had a long day ahead of us, we called it a night around 2am.
The next day, Serene was a little angel & went to Bojangles to grab us breakfast (PS- BoJo is my new addiction. Just can't get enough biscuits, lol) & I started to get myself ready. I had a custom for Serene & I to shoot that was going to at least take an hour, and she had 3 short 10 minute customs for me to shoot, and Ogre had mentioned something about wanting to do a clip or two with me, so we needed to get this party started, if I wanted to still drive home tonight.
Serene & I finished getting ourselves ready & we started filming my custom. We had to produce 65 minutes of content, when all was said & done, and I had a feeling that the hour was going to feel like 2 hours. Surprisingly, I was wrong! I was actually shocked when David called out that we only had 10 more minutes to go. Yay! So, we wrapped that one up & got ready to shoot Serene's customs. We just had to do 3, 10-minute dmasel/struggle clips, and then we were done. That ended up taking over an hour to shoot, for some reason. By the time we wrapped everything up, it was close to 6pm. Since I still had an 8 hour drive in front of me, I ended up not shooting with Ogre, so that I could get on the road. I wouldn't have minded staying an extra night, to do the work, but not only did I miss Jeremy, I had a super quick turn around time in between this trip & my next. Every minute that I was at home & in town, was going to count. I packed up my things, said good bye, and got on the road.
I arrived home at 2am, and there was a cute boy, in pajamas, sitting on my couch waiting for me. That made me smile :)
